Brisbane: Arson Attack on the Commonwealth Games Clock

13 April – Yesterday in Meanjin (Brisbane, so called Australia) we watched on social media as the police brutalised and arrested peaceful Stolenwealth Games protestors on the Gold Coast. They used excessive force on young people, people with disabilities, and elders.

The police also tried to claim one young person self harmed while in their custody. Allies are urgently needed at Camp Freedom on the last two days of the Commonwealth Games, to join peaceful protests and protect the camp, which over the last two weeks, has been threatened by Neo Nazis, racists, and the Queensland Police force. Our action is in no way endorsed by Stolenwealth Games organisers and protestors (who have no knowledge of it), but they have our solidarity through this and more practical acts.

This surfboard clock was launched in 2015 on this fake beach to count down 1000 days until the Commonwealth Games. Time is now up for the Commonwealth, the State, and the weapons of the state — the police. If Queensland wants to slip back so easily to the days of the opppressive and violent Joh Bjelke-Petersen dictatorship, then more resistance can be expected. Fuck the Police. Fuck the Commonwealth. This isn’t the Queen’s Land. The time to decolonise is now, for healing the land and healing the people of the land.

Melbourne: Meter vandals steal CCTV cameras

14 Sept – A Melbourne council installed CCTV cameras to stop parking meters being vandalised – but vandals have stolen the cameras.

The Maribyrnong City Council put in the five CCTV cameras after local traders refused to give up footage of new parking meters being vandalised.

But on Saturday the cameras, which were installed to monitor the vandalism, were stolen from the street, community group Yarraville Village Says No to Paid Parking says.

The group say they are not behind the vandalism or camera thefts.

Parking meters were installed by the council last month, which has angered local traders who say paid parking will kill the shopping strip.

The meters have been smashed up three times and slugged rate payers more than $20,000 in repair costs.

Cunningar: Vehicles torched at duck farm construction site

Bite Back, 22 October: Early morning Monday 13th October, the Animal Liberation Front and Earth Liberation Front decided to pay a visit to Pepe’s Ducks construction site at Linden Rd. Cunningar, NSW.

Targeting Pepe’s business was an easy choice for us, given that they are the biggest Australian supplier of factory duck meat to the masses. But as the human population grows, and Pepe’s $400,000 bill in 2012 for being a fraud has to be paid, it’s no surprise they are seeking to destroy more land and more lives in order to keep themselves on top.

A storm was moving in, and the skies had opened up by the time we reached the site, but without hesitation we decided to act. Incendiary devices were strategically placed and accelerant spread on 3 of their earth destroying machines, and with just a spark, smoke began to fill the sky as we made our departure.

For all those suffering at the hands of their domesticators.

Commodified, but not forgotten.

Indonesia: Electricity pylon destroyed by villagers in Paniki Atas

325, rough translation from Negasi: Wednesday, July 12, 2012, a High Voltage Electricity Pylon was destroyed by villagers of Paniki Atas, North Minahasa regency, North Sulawesi. This action of destruction is a manifestation of the attitude of rejection of the establishment of facilities for the residents in the surrounding residential area. The facility itself is a project of the State Electricity Company. As a result of this action, the pylon in the village was totally destroyed and until now (August 2, 2012) can not be operated. Nine Paniki Atas villagers have been named as suspects and are required to undergo a series of inspections and investigations at the office of Police – North Minahasa. The investigations were scheduled for July 31, 2012, but only two residents who received the demand complied.

Meanwhile the North Minahasa district police have set their sights on one person as the mastermind of the destruction of this action. Jiston Sinurat, a resident of Paniki Atas is accused by police as being the mastermind behind the sabotage. Sinurat himself refused to attend the examination and considers that the establishment of the pylon is illegal. Continue reading “Indonesia: Electricity pylon destroyed by villagers in Paniki Atas”

NZ: Hundreds of GM trees cut down Rotorua

April 13: According to the media, hundreds of genetically modified trees have been destroyed at the Crown Research Institute Scion site near Rotorua. The same place was already the target of a successful attack in early 2008 when 19 GM pine trees were cut down.

The field trial site contained 375 radiata pines trees planted last year following approval from ERMA (now the Environmental Protection Authority). Set inside Scion’s perimeter fence, the 1-hectare field trial site was secured by a double fence, one of which was electrified and monitored. Similarly to 2008, no group or individual has claimed responsibilty for getting rid of the GM trees. One can expect a large police operation to track down any fingerprints or DNA left at the ‘crime scene’. Continue reading “NZ: Hundreds of GM trees cut down Rotorua”
