Nauru: Refugees in detention call on people in Australia to join their protest action

letter14.04.16: It is day 26 of the ongoing daily peaceful protest by refugee families in the RPC 3 family compound at the Australian government’s offshore refugee detention camp on Nauru. The refugees are all seeking asylum in Australia and many of them have been waiting for more than two and a half years in hellish conditions for answers from Australian immigration authorities regarding their asylum claims. The protest began on March 20 to coincide with the Palm Sunday “Welcome Refugees” rallies in Australia calling for the closure of  the Australian government’s Nauru and Manus Island offshore refugee detention facilities. Today the protesting refugees on Nauru have written an open letter to the people of Australia (pictured above) calling on them to join their protests. Below is an unedited transcript of that letter.
