Indymedia: March 2014 will see the first ever Anarchist Bookfair to be held in Sydney.
In association with Jura Books and Black Rose, the Sydney Anarchist Bookfair collective is organising this non-profit event at the Addison Road Community Centre and we would like to invite you to have an information or merchandise stall in the main hall.
Anarchist Bookfairs began in London over 30 years ago and have since spread across the globe, including Australia’s shores with our comrades in Melbourne now planning their forth annual event.
Anarchist Bookfairs are a chance to find out about and discuss libertarian ideas, attend workshops and hear speeches on anarchist history and politics, discover new, local campaigns on wide range of issues, and of course, buy books.
We aim to have over fifty stalls on the day, including zine producers, radical t shirt designers, anarchist groups, and various campaigns distributing free information on everything from community gardens to indigenous rights. Several keynote speakers will discuss various topics in our speaker’s corner, held in the garden outside the main hall, and several workshops will be held throughout the day on anarchist politics.
Stall are $35 for half a table (1.25m approx.) and $50 for a full table. You may bring your own table but fees still stand as the stall costs pay for the venue hire.
The bookfair will take place on Saturday 22nd March, between 10.30am and 5pm. If you would like to have a stall at the event please contact us at sydneyanarchistbookfair@riseup.net
Look forward to hearing from you.
