28 September: Cherrybrook Technology High, in north-west Sydney was vandalised last week.
The vandals, two of whom have been identified as students, entered the school after hours last Monday night and flooded a second-floor textiles classroom with a fire hose, put glue in the school gate locks and wrote offensive graffiti, some of it mentioning teachers, on the amenities block of John Purchase Oval, behind the school. The damage is estimated at $6000.
One student said the vandalism was a muck-up day prank taken too far. Others suspected the damage was done by students not yet in year 12. No charges have been laid but Eastwood police are still investigating.
