August 25: VANDALS smashed more than 60 windows at Lockyer District High School in Gatton, SE Queensland.
Police said a fire extinguisher was discharged in the school’s assembly hall and graffiti sprayed on a number of buildings in town, including a North St shopping complex, the Autopro store in Railway St and Lockyer Valley Regional Council chamber building.
Police said the high school was damaged some time between 9pm and 9.45pm on Thursday.
Late yesterday Snr Sgt Missingham confirmed a 17-year-old Gatton youth had been charged with 12 counts of wilful damage by graffiti and another charge of wilful damage for the destruction at the school.
The teenager was also charged with entering with intent to commit an indictable offence.
“Police investigations are continuing in relation to outstanding offenders,” Snr Sgt Missingham said.
